Sports Illustrated Kids : SportsParent of the Year and Free SIKIDS Issue

I consider our household a sports household. My husband is a huge sports fan mainly football and baseball. My youngest son has followed suit and not only does he watch the sports with his dad he also plays them. My oldest son has been playing soccer since he was 6 (about 9 years). So playing sports, watching sports, and reading the sports section is prevalent in our home.

Free SIKIDS Digital Issue We currently have a subscription to Sports Illustrated, however it would be great for my sons to have a copy of Sports Illustrated Kids.

Sports Illustrated Kids is THE magazine for boys and girls who love sports. That’s because we present sports the way kids want to read about them: with great action photos, easy-to-read stories about star athletes, helpful instructional tips from the pros, and humor, comics, and activities. As a bonus, each issue comes with a two-sided pull-out poster of two superstar athletes plus nine sports cards.

If you are sports family like mine then  you may know someone, (or be someone), to nominate for SportsParent of the Year.

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED KIDS Presents “2012 SPORTSPARENT OF THE YEAR” CONTEST

For the first time ever, Sports Illustrated Kids will recognize a SportsParent of the Year. This parent is dedicated to family and community, and includes sports as a part of an active, healthy lifestyle. She or he exemplifies the qualities that SI Kids aims to impart to children through a shared passion for sports, including: fun, dedication, healthy living, and the value of community and team.

The SportsParent of the Year will win a $ 1,000 gift card to use for their child’s sports needs and may appear in a future issue of Sports Illustrated Kids. The contest is now open here: http://www.sikids.com/sportsparent

Doesn’t that sound amazing? I can think of a few mom’s and dad that fit this bill already. A dad that always volunteers as a coach or a mom that is at every game and organizing the parents and acting as team mom. I’m sure you know a lot of parents like this. Why not take a minute and nominate them for the first ever SportsParent of the Year!
